I have been working on a series of iPhoto images called the Distillation Series, and have recently started to add the iPad app called Brushrokes to the mix. These are a few of the more recent digital paintings to come out of the experiment. It is a pretty simple change, but I am liking the results.

A few more trial images using some of the painting/layering apps. I am still finding it pretty awkward to switch back and forth between apps. but I am hoping that this will fade away in time. Have to say that there are some amazing apps available for the iPhone/iPod/iPad.

Slim to None

Just a single painting today. I was testing the PinholeCam2 app on my iPad4 and shot some photos in the backyard. One looked sort of interesting or a least had the potential to be. The apps used were Snapseed, Brushstroke, and A+Signature. It is interesting how a rather mundane photo can be transformed using the Brushstroke app, and become both visually and emotionally transformed.

 A few new digital paintings. I am still exploring the painting apps and looking for a style that I feel works for me. There are so many options that it take time to sort through them.

The Foray Continues

A few more digital paintings. As before, I am trying out various painting apps. Some times there are real surprises, such as the monochrome painting. I thought that I would see what the effect of running a B&W photo through the Brushstroke app would be. Total surprise, it turned out to be a very strong image. Who would have thought? All the paintings were edited using Snapseed and Brushstroke with the exception of Early Light, where Waterlouge was used.

Still working my way through the ins and outs of some of my painting apps. Trying to get a handle on what works for me, and try to settle on one or two apps. You could spend years trying out apps and then there are more coming out weekly. All were shot using the iPod Touch and the Histamatic app. Here are three more paintings:
