NEW WORK: JULY

Working with the iPad and the Procreate app. I also continue to use my go to apps such as SanpSeed, DistressedFX, and Juxtaposer. Theses newest works have been done completely using the iPod for shooting, and the iPad for the processing.

NEW WORK: MAY & JUNE

Some recent work from the last two months. They were produced totally with the iPod/iPad. The images were shot using the Slow Sutter canera app and processed with Snapseed2.

I am still searching for the prefect workflow, but haven't found it as yet. It seems like the best combination is to shoot with my mirriorless camera and then do the processing on the iPad. I really like the mobility of the iPod for shooting, but the image quality is a little lacking in comparision with the E-P2 camera. However I am trying to accept the quality issue as a trade off for the ease use that the iPod/iPhone offers.

Recent Work: March/April

Some of the new work from March and the first half of April. I have recently been making a rudimentary drawings, shooting it with my soft focus setup, and then editing them in SnapSeed and various other apps. The painting apps that I use the most are BrushStroke and now Artista Impresso.

RECENT WORKS - February 2015

A continued exploration of soft focus photos combined with the painting app Brushstroke. A number of these recent works are pure abstract, and I am thinking of following this line exclusively for the present, but it is hard for me to give up the recognizable image. :-o

DISTILLATION + 2: TROUTDALE

Some new images from the "Distillation +"group. They were shot on a trip to Mt. Hood Community Collage for a show reception that I had some of my ICM photographs in. In addition to the normal subject matter, I often look for colors and forms that will later lend themselves to abstract digital paintings. I have found that the soft focus combined with the Brushstroke app on my iPad works very well, and think there is a lot of potential for exploration.

DISTILLATION+

I have been working on a series of iPhoto images called the Distillation Series, and have recently started to add the iPad app called Brushrokes to the mix. These are a few of the more recent digital paintings to come out of the experiment. It is a pretty simple change, but I am liking the results.

ANOTHER ROUND

A few more trial images using some of the painting/layering apps. I am still finding it pretty awkward to switch back and forth between apps. but I am hoping that this will fade away in time. Have to say that there are some amazing apps available for the iPhone/iPod/iPad.
